Our group loved 'The Silent Patient', but I'm stuck on a flaw
During our book club chat, all my friends said the ending twist was amazing. I disagree because the character's choices in the middle of the book don't match the final reveal. It looks like the author just wanted a big shock without good setup. That's why I didn't enjoy the book as much.

Totally get that, I had the same issue with another thriller. Found a different book where the twist actually made sense looking back.

@milesramirez brings up a solid point about twists in thrillers. It's similar to how life often makes more sense when you look back. Good storytelling mirrors that feeling of things falling into place later. I see this pattern in some movies and shows that stick with you. What other books have you read where the twist really held up?

I used to think twist endings were just shock value. Then I read The Silent Patient and the whole thing clicked on the last page. Changed how I look at thrillers now.
