Spoiler warnings or no spoiler warnings for book club picks?
Our group in Portland split hard on this last month when someone brought up a twist in The Secret History before half the members finished it. Half say we should mark spoilers in posts, the other half thinks book clubs require full honesty about plot points to debate properly. Which side do you land on, and how does your club handle late readers?

Full honesty about plot points" is a weird hill to die on for a BOOK CLUB. Like, the whole point is to discuss the book, not just spoil it for people who read slower. But honestly, can you still debate a twist if you already know it's coming? The debate changes, it becomes about execution instead of surprise. Is the argument really about spoilers, or is it about people feeling left out when they haven't finished yet? Maybe your club should just set a rule like "no twist talk until the LAST meeting for each book." That way everyone gets their turn to be surprised. What would the anti-spoiler people actually LOSE with that rule?
