Had a perfect binding week last month where every single spine glue mix was spot on
I usually mess up at least one batch per 30 books (you know, too runny or too thick). But for five straight days, every single spine I glued came out flat and solid. No bubbles, no cracking when I opened them up. Even my jig for the book press was cooperating. Has anyone else hit a streak like that where everything just clicked?

Lee, I think you're right - my luck meter's now on E for the rest of the year.

Lee, I feel you on the luck meter comment. But honestly, in my experience a streak like that usually means something in your routine got subtly better without you noticing. Check if your room temperature or humidity changed that week, that can mess with glue more than anything. Also, maybe you unconsciously slowed your application speed or let the glue tack up a few extra seconds before pressing. Take it from someone who's chased these perfect runs, it's never pure luck, it's usually a tiny variable you adjusted without thinking.
