Hit 500 spines bound in my garage this weekend and it hit me different

I was just cleaning up after finishing a commission for a local history group when I decided to count the stack of finished books in my spare room. I do it every so often just out of curiosity but this time I actually added up the total from my old notebook too. 503 books over 4 years and 3 months. That is a LOT of glue, thread, and cardboard. I remember struggling with my first one for like 6 hours and it still looked like garbage. Now I can crank out a basic rebind in under 2 hours on a good day. It made me realize how much I just picked up by messing up over and over. Has anyone else ever counted their total and been surprised by the number?

That count doesn't include the ones you gave away before you started keeping track.

Heard this exact thing from my buddy Mark with his old vinyl collection. He swore he had around 200 records but only counted like 150. Turns out he gave away a stack of 80s punk albums to his younger brother back in college, completely forgot about them until his brother brought it up at a family dinner. Dude had a whole other collection that just vanished from his memory. Now his brother has all those rare pressings worth a decent amount.
