My glue pot exploded on Tuesday and I actually cried for 5 minutes
Ngl, I was trying to heat up some PVA in a double boiler and forgot to vent the lid - popped right off and sent hot glue splatter across my whole workbench. Took me 45 minutes to scrape it off my sewing frame and now I'm scared to use my old pot again. Has anyone else had a glue disaster like this or am I just cursed?

Oh HELL no, microwaving PVA is a DISASTER waiting to happen! I tried that once and ended up with a volcano of glue in my microwave that smelled like burning plastic for a WEEK. Honestly, a double boiler is the safer option since you can actually control the heat, but you HAVE to remember to vent it like every 30 seconds. I literally keep a little wooden spoon wedged under the lid of my glue pot now so steam can escape. And trust me, scraped glue off a workbench is bad but have you ever had hot glue weld itself to your favorite pair of tweezers? That was a whole other level of heartbreak. You are definitely not cursed, this is just the glue pot initiation ritual that nobody warns you about.

Nah, you're not cursed but PVA in a double boiler is overkill, just microwave it next time.
