Old guillotine cutter vs. new rotary, picked the vintage one
After my local shop in Cleveland closed last winter, I had to choose between a beat-up 1970s guillotine for $150 or a new rotary trimmer for twice that, and I went with the guillotine because it felt more like what I learned on. That thing has a dull edge and needs a steady hand, but it cuts through a 3-inch text block clean after some sharpening and a lot of patience. Anyone else stuck with old gear out of nostalgia and regret or love it?
