Spent 4 hours trying to fix a wonky spine on a single book before realizing I'd glued the endpaper on backwards

Took me another 45 minutes to carefully peel it off and redo it, but now I triple check my grain direction before I even grab the brush, anyone else had a basic step trip them up like that?

Peeling that endpaper off without tearing it is honestly more impressive than the original mistake.

Nah, I gotta disagree there. The peel is just luck and patience, anyone can do it with a steady hand and some time. The real skill was fixing the mess without making it worse, cause that book was already damaged. Peeling paper is a party trick, but fixing a binding issue takes actual knowledge of how books go together. Most people wouldve just glued it back and called it a day, and then its ruined forever. So yeah, the repair matters way more than the reveal.
