Unpopular opinion: I stopped using wheat paste for book cloth after a conservator set me straight
She told me, 'You're not making papier-mache, you're binding a book,' and showed me how wheat paste causes long-term warping. Has anyone else had to unlearn a go-to method after getting real feedback?

Switched to PVA glue for book cloth and never looked back. Way less headache down the road.

Actually PVA isn't ideal for book cloth either. Needs to be a flexible adhesive like Jade or pH-neutral PVA, regular PVA gets brittle and cracks the spine over time.
