A nursery owner in Portland caught me drowning my pothos and I haven't watered the same since
She pulled the pot out of my hands, tipped it sideways, and said if water runs out the bottom within 2 seconds then I'm just flushing out the roots I already grew. Now I wait until the top inch of soil is dry and the pot feels light, which for my 6 inch pothos is about every 9 days in summer. Anyone else kill a plant by being too generous with the watering can?
