An old gardener told me to stop babying my seedlings back in 2018
She said I was coddling them with too much water and heat, so I backed off on both and suddenly my tomatoes didn't keel over after transplanting for the first time in 10 years has anyone else gotten that kind of blunt advice that actually worked?

my buddy matt had a old farmer tell him the same thing about his pepper starts back in 2019... he was misting them like three times a day and keeping a plastic dome on them until they were like 6 inches tall. the guy told him to basically neglect them for a week, let the soil dry out almost completely and just let them sit in the cold garage overnight. matt thought he was gonna kill them all but they ended up being the stockiest peppers he ever grew, stems like little tree trunks.

Neglect em early, they grow tougher.
