Can we talk about how everyone thinks you need a greenhouse for orchids?
I've kept a Phalaenopsis alive in my dry Denver apartment for 5 years, no special gear. People keep telling me they're impossible without a humidifier, but mine sits by a north window and gets watered every 10 days. It's bloomed twice this year. I think we make it too hard for new plant lovers. What's one plant rule you've found isn't true?

Remember the "needs full sun" tomato myth?

Totally, and it's not just plants. There's this weird pressure to turn every hobby into a gear checklist. Like you can't just cook, you need a special pan. Can't just run, you need the exact shoes. It makes simple joys feel like they have a high price of entry. Your orchid proves the plant just needs the basics, not a whole lab setup. We overcomplicate things to feel more expert, but it often just scares people off from starting.
