Caught my first pitcher plant bloom at the bog garden yesterday

I drove out to the Pine Barrens last weekend to check on the pitcher plants at that little preserve off Route 72. After three summers of visiting, I finally spotted one starting to bloom with that weird red flower hanging down. Has anyone else had a rare plant moment where you had to wait years just to see it do its thing?

Is waiting three years for a flower really "dedication" or just stubbornness? Plants do their thing when they feel like it, not because you drove out there.

...and here I am still waiting for my backyard Venus flytrap to do literally anything besides look like a sad little mouth. Three years and you finally got a bloom, man that's some serious dedication. Me, I would've given up after one summer and just bought a fake one from the craft store. Did you at least get a good photo or was it all blurry like my attempts at nature photography?
