Hit 500 native plant species on my yard list, never expected the last one

I started keeping track of every native plant I could identify growing in my suburban lot back in March, just a silly hobby to get through the off season. By August I was at 487 species, which felt insane for a quarter acre with a lawn I used to nuke with weed killer every spring. The 500th one was a tiny panic grass that showed up in a crack in the driveway after I stopped using salt last winter. That little grass made me realize how much diversity was hiding under my old habits of tidy gardening and chemical sprays. The count now sits at 512, and every single one has a story about soil, birds, or my neighbor's cat. Has anyone else done a species count on their property and hit a number that surprised them? What was your tipping point species that got you hooked on natives instead of the usual hosta and boxwood routine?

Honestly, that panic grass story is wild, I heard natives can pop up anywhere once you stop fighting the soil.
