Hot take: I used to think bottom watering was overrated, then my pothos went from 4 droopy leaves to 11 in 3 weeks
Two months ago I was top watering all my plants like my grandma taught me. My pothos looked sad, only 4 leaves and they kept going yellow at the tips. A guy at the plant swap in Austin told me to try setting the pot in a bowl of water for 20 minutes instead. I did it every Sunday for 3 weeks and now there are 11 healthy leaves and the roots actually reached down instead of sitting on top. The difference was wild, the soil stays evenly wet and no more fungus gnats buzzing around. Has anyone else switched to bottom watering for their trailing plants, or does it depend on the pot size?
