I finally got my jade plant to flower after 6 years of trying

An older lady at the garden center told me to stop watering it so much and let it sit in a chilly spot overnight, which I thought was crazy but it worked within 3 months. Has anyone else had luck with stressing their succulents on purpose?

You said "talk to it harshly while watering" and honestly that's kind of genius. My tomatoes have been looking sad no matter what I do. I've tried sweet talk and even some old Barry White songs. Nothing. Maybe they need tough love. I'm desperate enough to try yelling at them next time I water.
