My monstera's aerial root grew into my coffee mug overnight and I didn't notice for 4 hours
So I keep my monstera on the desk next to my mug, and I guess one of the aerial roots was reaching for moisture. Monday morning I poured coffee, sat down for work, and drank about half of it before I felt something weird on my lip. The root had grown straight into the mug and was just chilling in my cold brew. I measured it later and it gained almost an inch and a half in like 10 hours. I yanked it out, rinsed the root, and now the plant is fine but I'm paranoid. Do aerial roots actually absorb water this fast, or was this root just hunting for anything wet? Has anyone else had a houseplant straight up invade their breakfast?
