My neighbor Dale swore eggshells would keep slugs off my hostas, and he was completely wrong
Dale from two doors down told me to crush up eggshells and ring my hostas with them, said his mom did it for 40 years in Ohio and never lost a leaf. I did it in April, used 18 eggs worth, and by June those hostas looked like Swiss cheese while a family of slugs moved into my mulch. Turns out the shells do nothing once it rains unless you crush them to dust, and even then the slugs just crawl over. So what actually works for you guys, beer traps or copper tape?
