My neighbor's prize-winning orchid or my cat's dignity, had to pick one
So my cat, Mango, knocked over my neighbor's Cattleya orchid right before the county fair. The pot shattered and the flower spike snapped. I had two hours to either try to save the orchid with a makeshift splint and repot, or take Mango to the vet because he ate some of the potting mix and was acting weird. I chose the orchid, using a chopstick and some twine to brace it. The flower actually perked up enough for her to take second place, but Mango just had an upset stomach and is fine now, though he's mad at me. Has anyone else had to make a wild plant vs. pet choice like that?

Okay, but you prioritized a ribbon over your cat's health. What was the actual plan if Mango had eaten something toxic instead of just getting a stomach ache?

Honestly the plan was probably to panic and call the vet while covered in glitter. Not my finest moment of crisis planning. Mango's fine now, but you're right, it was a dumb risk for a dumb ribbon. Guess I learned the hard way that cats and craft supplies are a bad mix.
