PSA: that free botanical garden tour last Saturday was a disaster

I went to the open house at the Ridgewood Arboretum and the guide just walked us past 40 plants without stopping. Ten minutes in my group had already wandered off because there was zero info given. How do you handle tours that feel like rushed sales pitches instead of actual learning?

Yeah that sounds rough, "wandered off because there was zero info given" is about the worst feedback a tour can get. I read somewhere that good garden tours need a balance between moving and stopping so people can actually take things in. If they rush you past 40 plants without pausing, it's like they're trying to check a box instead of share what they know.

Oh man I had a friend who walked off a garden tour because the guide just kept naming plants and never once said why they were cool.
