Showerthought: I spent 3 days trying to save a sick orchid and realized most plant advice online is just guessing.

Honestly, it's not all guessing, but you have to know where to look. A lot of generic blogs just repeat the same basic tips. The real good stuff comes from orchid society forums or really specific growers. They've actually seen what works over and over. Tbh, it took me killing a few plants to learn that difference.

Yeah the online advice is all over the place. Stick your finger in the potting mix, if it's still damp don't water it. That's the only rule that ever saved my plants.
