Warning: I thought talking to plants was silly until my orchid bloomed

My grandma kept telling me to chat with my sad orchid in Phoenix, so I gave it a shot for a month. The thing finally put out a new spike after nothing for a year. Has anyone else had a stubborn plant respond to something you thought was nonsense?
