Almost bought the $400 EEG headset, then a guy at a Pittsburgh meetup handed me his $35 DIY build
I was set on the fancy one for my first BCI project until he showed me his raw signal data at the same noise level. Anyone here actually running the cheap OpenBCI clone boards for real work, or am I about to waste a weekend?

Same noise level at a tenth of the price says it all. Spend the weekend, worst case you're out 35 bucks.
