Finally got my prototype to read a steady 200 microvolts from the motor cortex. It only took about six months of tweaking the electrode gel.

That's a serious grind, man. Totally feel you on the endless tweaking part. Hitting a clean signal like that must be a huge relief.

Serious is a strong word for messing with settings. It's just turning knobs until something sounds okay. Calling it a grind feels like a stretch.

Turning knobs until something sounds okay is way different from the serious grind people put into mixing. There's a whole science to it, from gain staging to frequency masking, that takes hours to get right. A simple knob turn can mess up a whole chain if you don't know what you're doing. It might look easy on the surface but that's like saying a chef just throws stuff in a pan. Respect the process or don't call it simple.
