Getting my OpenBCI headset to work with the Muse 2 took me a whole weekend

I was trying to set up a simple motor imagery experiment, but the data stream kept dropping. The issue was a mismatch in the sample rate between the two devices. I had to dig through the OpenBCI forums for about 12 hours before finding a user patch from someone in Berlin that fixed the sync. Has anyone else run into weird sample rate problems with different hardware?

Oh man, that "user patch from someone in Berlin" line is the whole hobbyist BCI experience in a nutshell. My own weekend was lost to a similar sync ghost, but mine was because I'd left an old Bluetooth dongle plugged in (from a different project, naturally). The software was trying to talk to that phantom device instead, and I only figured it out after reinstalling the driver three times. I felt so smart and so dumb at the same time.

Ever have one of those fixes that feels obvious only after you've wasted hours? @andrewt41, that bluetooth dongle story is way too real. It's always the simple, physical thing you overlook while digging through software.

You felt smart and dumb at the same time" - that's the perfect way to put it. What makes it worse is when you don't have a spare dongle to test if the phantom is the real culprit, so you just keep going in circles. Did you end up tossing that old dongle or just labeling it so it doesn't trick you again?
