Got some tough feedback on my EEG headset placement from a professor at the conference.

She told me my electrode setup was 'a mess' and that I was getting noise from my jaw muscles because I was putting them too far forward. I moved everything back about two inches, following the 10-20 system exactly, and my signal clarity improved a ton overnight. Has anyone else had a simple placement fix make a huge difference in their BCI project?

Moving them back two inches is a lot. The 10-20 system is about percentages of head measurements, not fixed distances. You probably moved them into the correct scalp positions, which is why the muscle noise dropped off.

percentages not fixed distances" from @martinez.anna just fixed my whole view.

My wife had the same lightbulb moment about six months back. She was tweaking our front speakers and kept measuring from the wall instead of from her ears. After that percentage talk clicked, she fixed a phase issue we'd been chasing for weeks. It's wild how something that simple can change everything you thought you knew.
