Hot take: I miss the clunky EEG caps from 10 years ago
I visited the neuro lab at my old university last week and those foam electrode caps we used to wear feel more honest than these sleek consumer headsets. Anyone else think the new minimalist designs sacrifice signal quality for looks?

The 128-channel wet electrode system we used in 2014 felt like a science experiment every time, but I could actually see the difference in the raw data compared to today's dry electrode bands. My lab switched to a popular consumer headset last year and we lost about 30% of our signal clarity on frontal lobe readings, which is huge for attention studies. Those foam caps may have been uncomfortable and left your hair a mess, but they picked up every tiny brainwave without compromise.

Isn't it frustrating when convenience costs you good data?
