Just realized I had to pick between a faster setup time or better accuracy with my EEG headset

I spent 30 minutes last night trying to decide between the dry gel electrodes for quick readings and the wet ones for cleaner signals, went with the wet ones for a focused 20 minute session, and the data was way cleaner but I was already annoyed by the time I started.

Dry electrode setups are the way to go if you value actually using the device instead of fiddling with gel. The slight data quality trade off is totally worth it when you can run 10 sessions in the time it takes to prep wet ones once. Most real world applications don't need lab grade signal anyway, so the extra accuracy is wasted on non-critical tasks. You're optimizing for perfection when consistency and speed matter more for practical use. Plus wet electrodes mean more cleanup and wasted materials, which adds up fast if you're doing regular readings.

Nah, "lab grade signal" matters more than you're giving it credit for, especially if you're trying to catch subtle brainwave patterns that dry electrodes just miss. I'd rather do one solid session than ten noisy ones lol.
