My uncle in Tulsa got a trial BCI implant 6 months ago and now he can't sleep without it
My uncle signed up for this clinical trial for a non invasive BCI headband thing in Tulsa about 6 months ago. At first he was just using it 20 minutes a day to help with his hand tremors from his old job at a warehouse. But last month he told me he wears it to fall asleep now and if the battery dies at 3am he wakes up and just sits there. I stayed at his place two weeks ago and watched him panic for like 40 minutes looking for the charger at 2 in the morning. The trial doctor said this isnt a real side effect but I've seen it with my own eyes. Is this a thing that happens with these devices or is my uncle just a special case?
