Talked to a neurologist about BCI latency and it changed how I think about control

I was at a conference last month and a neurologist told me that even a 50 millisecond delay in a brain-computer interface can make a user feel like the system is broken. He showed me data from a study where people rejected a prosthetic arm just because of that tiny lag. Has anyone else run into this speed vs. accuracy tradeoff in their own builds?

Read a paper that said anything over 80ms feels unresponsive to people.

Haha well that explains why my setup with a cheap Bluetooth mouse feels like I'm playing a game from the 90s! My reaction time is probably measured in seconds at this point. Maybe it's time I actually plug something in instead of relying on wireless lag.
