That EEG headband I thought was snake oil actually helped me focus better

I picked up this Muse headband at a thrift store for $15 a few months back, figured it was just a toy. Tried it for a week and felt zero difference, honestly thought it was a waste of space. But after I kept at it for about 3 weeks, doing the guided focus sessions daily, I noticed I could actually block out my neighbor's loud music and work longer. Now I'm wondering if anyone else had a slow start with these things or if it's just me. Did you guys need to stick with it for a while before it clicked?

Maybe my brain's just slow and needed a few extra weeks to catch up.

Three weeks is nothing with this kind of tech. I tried a similar headband for about two months before I noticed anything real. You're basically teaching your brain a new habit, not getting instant results like popping a pill. The whole point is the feedback loop trains you to recognize when you're drifting off mentally. I'd bet most people give up after a week and say it's junk, not realizing it takes time to build that awareness. Sounds like you're on the right track now, so keep at it.
