Vent: My neural implant firmware bricked itself during an update last night

I was running a firmware update on my Kernel Flow headset around 10pm, standard stuff, and about halfway through it just died. No warning, no error message, just a black screen and the LED went out. I tried force restarting it three times but it wouldn't even connect to my phone anymore. I checked their support page and apparently this is a known issue with the last update they pushed in March. I'm stuck with a $400 paperweight until they ship me a recovery cable, which they said could take 5-7 business days. Has anyone else had this happen and found a workaround without waiting for the official fix?

Stuck with a $400 paperweight" is exactly how I'd feel... brutal. I had something similar happen with a different brand and the only thing that worked was leaving it unplugged for 48 hours and trying again. Might not help, but worth a shot while you wait.

My old laptop did the exact same thing last year, overheated during a zoom call and just died. I left it unplugged for three full days, honestly forgot about it in a closet, and when I plugged it back in it actually booted up like nothing happened. The trick is making sure the battery drains completely, which is why 48 hours is probably the minimum you need. It's a total gamble of course, but it's free and beats sitting there staring at a black screen.
