Why does nobody talk about how exhausting BCI calibration sessions really are?

I met a researcher at a small BCI meetup in Portland last spring. She was working on a project to help stroke patients regain motor control using neural signals. She told me that after just 20 minutes of calibration, most people feel mentally wiped out, like they ran a mental marathon. I tried a consumer EEG headband myself a few weeks later and wow, she was right. My focus was shot for the rest of the day after that 30 minute setup. It makes me wonder if BCI tech will ever get past this fatigue problem, or if it's just a natural limit of our brains. Has anyone else dealt with this brain fog after using a BCI device?

Same kind of drain as after a long zoom meeting, just concentrated into thirty minutes.

Wait, aren't zoom meetings usually way longer than 30 minutes?
