The week we had to tear down and rebuild a 30-foot garden wall because the client's landscaper used the wrong mortar mix

Been there lol. Always check the mortar bag yourself before they start mixing, saves a ton of headaches later.

My uncle told me a story about a crew using the wrong mortar mix for brick veneer on a whole house side. They had to chip it all off and start over, a total waste of two weeks. That's why his rule is to physically open the bag and read the type code before it ever touches water. You can't just trust the label on the pallet because sometimes bags get moved around. It seems like overkill until you see how expensive a simple mix-up can get.

Wait, they messed up a whole house side? How does that even happen without someone noticing?
