Booked a flight to Lisbon with a 24 hour layover on purpose.

Got a free extra city by staying in the airport hotel in Frankfurt. Saved about $300 versus a direct flight. Anyone know other airports with good cheap hotels inside?

My last planned layover in Amsterdam turned into a three day stay because I misread the hotel booking dates. Ngl, it was a great mistake, the airport Sheraton was weirdly cheap.

Smart move, honestly. I've done that in Singapore and it worked out great. More airports should have that setup.

Wait, you saved money by adding a hotel stay? That math never works out for me. The airport hotels always cost more than the flight difference. You must have found some magic fare.
