Finally compared hostel vs budget hotel for a 4 night trip to Portland
I spent 4 nights in a hostel dorm in Portland for $32 a night and then 4 nights in a cheap motel near the airport for $58 a night. The hostel actually worked way better for me because I could cook my own meals in the kitchen and there were lockers for my stuff. Has anyone else found that hostels end up cheaper when you factor in food costs?
