Hostel dorms vs. capsule hotels - which saves more for solo trips?

I used to always grab a 6-bed dorm in hostels for $25 a night, but after a trip to Tokyo last spring where a capsule place cost $30 with better sleep, I'm leaning toward capsules for peace. Now I'm wondering if the extra $5 is worth it for noise-free nights or if I'm just getting soft. What's your take on paying a little more for quiet over dirt cheap dorms?

I feel you man I just got back from Bangkok where a capsule saved my sanity over a loud dorm for only a few bucks more. Sometimes that little bit of peace is totally worth it when you actually need to recharge.

Man, same deal in Tokyo, that capsule hotel was the best money I ever spent on sleep.
