I found a way to get cheap flights to Tokyo by searching on Tuesdays

I was trying to plan a trip to Tokyo but flights were always over $1,200. A friend told me to check prices every Tuesday afternoon, not just on weekends. I tried it for three weeks and saw fares drop to $850 on a Tuesday. It seems airlines update their deals then. Has anyone else found a specific day that works better for other cities?

My experience has been the opposite, actually. I tracked flights to Osaka for two months and the lowest prices always popped up late on Thursday nights, around 11 PM. Tuesday was consistently more expensive by at least a hundred bucks.

Wait so you stayed up and checked flights at 11 PM on purpose or just got lucky? That's wild to me because I always figured airlines drop deals in the middle of the night or early morning but I never actually tried checking that late. I usually just wake up at 6 AM and hope for the best and I end up paying way more than I should. Honestly tracking flights for two months sounds like a part time job how did you not go crazy checking prices that often?

I found cheap flights to Tokyo on Wednesday mornings using Google Flights alerts.
