Last minute flight cancel in Atlanta taught me a solid backup trick

I was stuck in Atlanta last month with a 6am flight to New Orleans that got cancelled at 11pm. No hotels near the airport were under $200 and I was on a super tight budget. Ended up walking to a 24hr Waffle House a mile away, bought coffee and sat there from midnight til 4am when the next flight started boarding. Saved me $180 and honestly the grits were decent enough. Anybody else got go to spots near airports for pulling an all nighter?

Done that same thing at a Waffle House in Phoenix, best $3 coffee ever.

Atlanta is the worst airport for that stuff, but @tessa_kelly has the right idea with Waffle House.
