Lost $60 on a 'waterproof' travel backpack from Amazon
I bought this backpack off Amazon for a 3-week trip through Thailand. It was labeled as waterproof and had like 4,000 reviews with a 4.5 star rating. First day out in Chiang Mai, a light rain started and my clothes inside were soaked through within 10 minutes. Turns out it was just water resistant, not actually waterproof. I ended up having to buy a dry bag at a local shop for like $12 and just carried my stuff inside that. The backpack itself was fine for dry weather but totally useless in any real rain. Has anyone else fallen for the 'waterproof' marketing on Amazon gear? What brand actually holds up in a downpour?
