My hostel kitchen trick saved me $50 in Rome

People keep buying bottled water in Italy. It's a total waste. The tap water is fine. I saw a guy spend 8 euros on six bottles at a corner store. In Rome, there are public fountains everywhere. They call them nasoni. Free cold water all day. I filled my bottle at one near the Colosseum for a week. Tasted great. Never got sick. That money adds up fast. What other simple things do travelers waste cash on?

Tourist trap restaurants near major sights are another huge money drain.

Sometimes you're just tired and need a burger right there. The convenience is worth the extra few bucks when your feet hurt.
