My worst travel day ever was saved by a $12 bus ticket
Last month in Lisbon, I missed my booked train to Porto because of a huge line at the ticket machine. I was stressed and thought I'd have to pay over 60 euros for a new same-day ticket. Instead, I walked to the bus station across the street and got a FlixBus ticket for only 12 euros. The ride was actually nicer than the train, with free wifi and a bathroom. It got me thinking, I always check trains first but buses are often way cheaper and just as good. Has anyone else found a better deal by just looking at the station next door?

OH wow, that's such a good point! Did the bus have those super comfy reclining seats too? Because I swear some FlixBuses I've taken in Italy had seats better than the train's second class. Like, I'm honestly wondering why more people don't just compare both stations before booking.
