Question about booking flights 54 days out after I saw a fare graph at the airport kiosk

I was waiting for a delayed flight in Denver last month and messed around with the airline's touchscreen, turns out fares drop like $80 if you book exactly 54 days before departure, has anyone else noticed this weird timing on other routes?

That graph at the kiosk probably does some serious adjusting for demand, not just days out. The 54 day thing might just be when that particular route happened to drop because of how many seats were left and what time of year it is. Different airlines use totally different pricing math, so what works for Denver to wherever won't hold up on other routes. Better to watch the actual price trend over a few weeks than chase one specific number. Also remember the kiosk is trying to get you to book right then and there, it's not giving you the full picture.
