Serious question, chose a $9 hostel in Lisbon over a $38 hotel and got bedbugs
Last month I booked the cheapest hostel I could find in Lisbon for $9 a night instead of a $38 hotel room, thinking I was being smart with my money. By the second night I had bites all over my arms and had to wash everything I owned at a laundromat for 15 euros. Has anyone else had a cheap stay go this wrong, and how do you check for bedbugs before you pay?
