Shoutout to the $9 airport sandwich: I used to eat at the gate, now I pack a pb&j and save $140 a trip
I used to just buy food at the airport because packing felt like too much hassle, and I would drop around $18 on a sandwich and a water every single time. Last month I flew out of Chicago for a 6 day trip, stuffed a pb&j, two apples, and an empty water bottle in my carry on, and spent $0 at the terminal. My sister thinks it is cheap and embarrassing to eat a sad sandwich at the gate, but I think paying $9 for mayo on bread is the real embarrassment. Which side are you on, do you suck it up and buy airport food or do you always pack your own?
