Spent $40 on a luggage scale before my trip to Lisbon and everyone called it a waste.
It saved me from a $75 overweight fee at the airport because my backpack was actually 5 pounds over the limit, so has anyone found a cheaper tool that works just as well?

Always feels good when a cheap tool saves you real money.

Haha right? That's exactly how I feel every time I fix something around the house with a ten dollar tool. @oliver_mitchell I've been there too, feels like you're hacking the system until you realize you just spent two hours saving twenty bucks on a repair, but hey, it's the principle. My last win was a stubborn toilet flapper that I fixed with a screwdriver I found in a gutter, so take that with a grain of salt. The cheap tool always comes with a hidden cost of my own ignorance, but I'll take the win.

Totally agree, that feeling is the best. Just fixed my dryer last week with a five dollar multimeter instead of calling a repair guy. The little wins add up so fast and make you feel like a genius.
