That $200 'discount' flight finder app was a total scam
I saw ads for this app that promised to find hidden cheap flights, so I paid $200 for a year subscription. Ended up just showing me basic Google Flights results I could get for free. When I tried to cancel after a week, they made me jump through hoops and wouldn't refund me. Has anyone else had luck with those cheaper flight alert services or are they all garbage?

Did you try asking for a chargeback with your credit card company? That is exactly what I did when I got stuck with a similar app that promised "exclusive deals" but just showed me the same cheap flights I could find on Skyscanner for free. I called my bank, told them I paid for a service that was not what they advertised, and they reversed the charge. The app company fought it but the bank sided with me. After that I tried a free trial of a flight alert app called Dollar Flight Club and actually got a few good deals from it, like a $300 round trip to Iceland. The key is to only use the free version or a short monthly subscription, never lock yourself into a full year.
