Tried the overnight bus trick in Mexico City, regret every second

Booked a 12 hour first-class bus from Oaxaca to CDMX because it was $18, but the AC was broken and the guy next to me snored like a chainsaw the whole way. Anyone else found that the extra $30 for a flight is worth it every single time?

Nah, hard disagree. That $18 bus is a right of passage. You get real stories out of it. The snoring guy becomes a legend in your head. Plus you saw the countryside, ate at a random stop, actually felt the distance. Flying just skips all that. You pay more to see less.
