Can we talk about how everyone forgets to budget for annual fees
I see so many people posting emergency fund wins but they never factor in the $150 yearly fee on their HOA or Amazon Prime. I track every single recurring charge now after it hit my account sucker punch style back in March. How do you guys catch these surprise bills before they land?

You're calling a $150 Amazon Prime charge a "sucker punch" but that's pretty small compared to most real emergencies. If that amount messes up your budget, you might have bigger problems than forgetting about a fee. Can you really call missing a simple annual renewal a "surprise" when you signed up for it in the first place?

Set up calendar alerts on your phone for any subscription renewal. I do it for everything from Amazon to my domain name. That $150 won't wreck most people's budgets but forgetting a couple of these can add up fast. Three or four subscriptions hitting the same month is what really stings. You just need a better system than relying on memory. Most of these services won't refund you after three days either so you eat the cost.
