Comparing YNAB to EveryDollar was a wake-up call for me

I spent 6 months on EveryDollar and kept messing up my budget because I couldn't track overspending in real time. Then I tried YNAB for a month (the $14.99 plan) and it clicked because it forces you to assign every dollar before you spend. The envelope method just made more sense for my brain, honestly. Has anyone else switched tools and seen a huge difference in how much they save?

Honestly, that "assign every dollar before you spend" part is exactly what happened to a buddy of mine. He was on EveryDollar for like 8 months and kept going over on groceries because he just had a vague number in his head, not a real plan. Then he tried YNAB and it was like a light switch for him, he started saving like 200 bucks a month just by being strict with his categories. He told me the envelope method felt like a game instead of a chore, and it stuck. Now he won't touch any other app, swears by it.

Heard a finance podcaster say the same thing, the envelope system just makes it stick for most people.
