I finally blocked hidden fees on my phone bill
Watch your phone bill close. Mine had extra charges every month. Found a $5 fee for something I never used. Called and got it removed. Now I check each line item. Saves me $60 a year. Big win for my budget.

Totally feel that, it's like playing whack-a-mole with these companies. My bill had a "network access fee" that was just pure nonsense last year. You really do have to call every few months to keep them honest.

Actually checking line items does help long term, because they can't keep refunding the same fee forever if you catch it each month. It forces them to either stop the charge or explain it properly. That consistent pressure makes a difference.

Wish checking line items actually fixed the problem for good. These companies just rename the fees or bury them in new ways. Last month my bill had a "regulatory cost recovery fee" that was basically a made up charge for nothing. They refunded it when I called, but then next cycle there was a new "administrative charge" in its place. Honestly, you have to call and threaten to cancel to get them to stop for real, just reviewing the bill is a forever game.
